Oath of Martyrdom - Homebrew Paladin Subclass

I am a sinner.
The shame and guilt are mine to bear.
I shall take punishment upon me for repentance is all I have left

Also known as Penitents, paladins who take the oath of martyrdom don't necessarily do so willingly.

While some of them are people seeking release from their mistakes and imperfections, some are put on this path by the gods as a means to punish heretic or heinous deeds.

Paladins of martyrdom see life as a journey towards salvation through suffering and tribulation, disregarding their physical condition to remain faithful to the tenets of Martyrdom.

Penitents feel a constant need to sacrifice their wellbeing for the sake of redemption, and in exchange for their suffering are endowed with power that transcends the physical realm, bringing them one step closer to salvation.

A paladin of martyrdom remains bound by their vow even beyond death, for salvation is always at reach but neither owed nor granted.
